Missions

One of the ways Anchor Baptist participates in Missions is through the Elkhorn Baptist Association which is a local organization that is involved in Missions here in central Kentucky.

 The Elkhorn Baptist Association

Located at 1161 Red Mile Road in Lexington, Kentucky the Elkhorn Baptist Association is comprised of 84 cooperating Southern Baptist churches and 14 missions/new works in central Kentucky. The Association is a voluntary cooperating member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. Founded in 1785 the Elkhorn Baptist Association is the oldest Baptist Association west of the Alleghenies, pre-dating the Southern Baptist Convention.  To find out more about the activities of the Association click on the following link:

 
Other ways Anchor Baptist participates in Missions is through children's groups that focus on missions. 
  
Girls In Action 
 
GA’s meet every Wednesday evening from 6:45 to 7:30 PM.  Girls range from 1st – 6th grades.
GA's
     •learn what missionaries do.
     •pray for missionaries and their work.
     •discover how they can help other people.
     •save and give money to help tell other people about Jesus.
     •learn about people around the world
     •have fun with friends!
  
Royal Ambassador’s
 
RA’s meet every Wednesday evening from 6:45 to 7:30 PM.  Boys ranging from 1st – 5th grades.
 RA’s -
     •is Bible-centered, education and missions based organization that helps develop boys to be
      Ambassadors for Christ.
     •RA's will build valuable Christian friendships
     •Learn to live the RA pledge in their daily lives.
     •Study Biblical virtues
     •learn about missionaries around the world
     •participate in exciting ministry and mission projects.
  
Mission Friends         
 
Mission Friends meet every Wednesday evening from 6:45 to 7:30 PM.  These boys & girls are preschoolers & kindergarteners.
  Mission Friends -
      •Provide a strong foundation for preschoolers in a Christian and mission lifestyle
      •Provides developmentally appropriate mission learning experiences to help them move to a focus on others
      •Become aware that not everyone knows about God’s love
      •Understand ways they can help others know about this good news in the Elkhorn Baptist Associaton
